By asking such important questions, the Acton community has achieved a broader and deeper understanding of what is commonly believed, desired and valued by its residents. In the spring and summer of 2008, we held a six-month long conversation with YOU about the future of Acton. The Community Outreach Program Component of Acton's Comprehensive Community Plan is now completed.

What was the Process?
First, with you, we determined the community’s core values so that we can articulate a shared vision of a desired future for Acton. You provided your opinions, vision, and desires via surveys, at many meetings, and on comment boards. Second, the core values were used to formulate the Emerging Vision and Goals for Acton's Future. Third, the Emerging Vision and Goals are an important guide as we proceed into the next phase of the Comprehensive Community Plan. Outreach and community involvement will continue.

The Town of Acton’s Comprehensive Plan Outreach Committee has created this website as one way to make the planning process as accessible, transparent and inclusive as possible, and to help the citizens of Acton better understand what a comprehensive plan is, why it’s important for Acton to have one and how a plan is developed.
